VARIJACIJE

The works presented in the exhibition are developed through a process of drawing with pastel, which is then translated into a digital medium through scanning, duplication, and further manipulation. Each work functions as a variation on the same theme, in which the form is continuously transformed, multiplied, and reinterpreted.

The starting point of the research is found in the bilikum, a traditional ritual drinking vessel associated with acts of hospitality, social gathering, and togetherness. The often unusual form of the bilikum and its specific way of use introduced elements of play, challenge, and spontaneity. As such, it encouraged interaction among people, creating a space for collaboration, improvisation, and shared experience. This diversity of forms and uses becomes the foundation for a series of drawings and their reinterpretations. The works speculate on their possible variation: past, present, and future.

The exhibition Variations is part of a broader research project developed within my Master's thesis, which explores the relationship between tradition, form, and contemporary visual language through the medium of drawing and its reproduction.
